Under this process a new Cooper Creek Draft Water Resource Plan has been developed in compliance with the Water Act 2000. In addition a Cooper Creek Draft Resource Operations Plan is proposed to be prepared in order to implement the requirements of the draft water resource plan.
The draft water resource plan and intention to prepare a draft resource operations plan will be released for public consultation on 18 October 2010 for four months. As part of the consultation process, the Queensland Government is holding information sessions in the plan area.
You are invited to attend the information session where representatives from the Department of Environment and Resource Management will explain the new amendments proposed in the draft plan and explain how you can make a formal written submission on both the draft plan and the intention to prepare a draft resource operations plan. Times and dates of public information sessions in the catchment are as below.
